2018 shooting dates (downloadable PDF)

We are a Derbyshire Club registered with the Home Office and members of the National Rifle Association of the UK.

Members shoot on a range near Ashbourne on 9 or 10 days each year. Normally shooting days are Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. This is an outdoor range with no facilities - which can be a challenge for our lady shooters. We assemble at 8:30 am and normally finish about 3:30pm. Shooters are expected to stay all day and take their turn shooting and in the Butts.

There is a restriction on the use of any vehicle on this range so a level of fitness is required to walk to the range and up and down to the firing points.

A normal day will begin with a detail on the 200 yard firing point progressively moving back to 500 yards.

Black powder muzzle loaders to the latest custom rifle may be in use at any shoot.

Members skills range from top competitors to happy plinkers.

We welcome new membership applications from FAC holders and a form with club rules etc. can be obtained by E-mail from the Secretary. Like most clubs we wish to encourage young people to enjoy our sport. We also welcome qualified RCO’s. Lots of help and support is available to new members.

The current membership fee is Ł50.
